Our Mission

Our Mission

Simple yet profound...

Our mission is to support and sponsor underprivileged families with children suffering from serious medical conditions in The Gambia, West Africa. We help families navigate healthcare resources by providing funding for crucial healthcare services while being an advocate that ensures treatment aligns with their needs.

About The Gambia

The Gambia is a republic in West Africa, that sits on the Atlantic ocean being the smallest country in mainland Africa with 2.6 million people. Its inhabitants are of the Wollof, Mandinka, Serre, Jolla, Fulani tribes. Like most developing countries, preventable and treatable diseases like malaria, respiratory infections, diarrhea disease, malnutrition, and neonatal sepsis are largely responsible for childhood mortality and morbidity in The Gambia.. In addition to common ailments that affect African children, Gambian children also suffer from serious medical conditions such as congenital heart defects, childhood Leukemias, infection related cancers such as Liver cancer, several lymphomas and sarcomas and other solid tumors. The country has a weak health sector due to lack of financial and logistical support, inadequate referral system, and a shortage of trained health personnel. Despite its challenges the culture of The Gambian people is to be warm, welcoming, always smiling and it is referred to as the “smiling coast of Africa”.
